We are seeking a Compensation Analyst to join our Total Rewards team. This hands-on role is perfect for someone with a passion for data, research, and competitive strategy. As a Compensation Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company offers competitive pay to attract and retain talent. Your expertise will guide HR professionals and leaders on compensation principles, practices, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct job evaluations and benchmark compensation by evaluating and determining the relative value of jobs in relation to internal and external markets.
- Classify and level jobs, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Collect and analyze market intelligence to guide compensation practices.
- Administer annual promotion and merit cycle processes in coordination with our parent company, Textron.
- Prepare and present compensation data to various audiences, including senior management.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations by responding to audits on compensation processes, practices, and data.
- Participate in system implementations, upgrades, or testing.
- Provide advice, guidance, and training to HR professionals and leaders on compensation principles, practices, processes, and strategy.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues, Finance, and corporate and business unit counterparts to develop company-wide recommendations.
- Engage in special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Participate in ongoing training and development.
- Occasional travel required for training, conferences, and/or system testing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a compensation professional.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with compensation practices and trends, job evaluation methodologies, and pay structure design for a Fortune 200 company.
- Experience using HR information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) and managing personnel data.
- Experience in data analysis, market pricing, responding to and interpreting salary surveys, and data models.
- Strong analytical and research skills to interpret complex data and deliver informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively convey compensation information to employees and management.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Equal Pay Act, and other labor and tax laws.
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies (e.g., EEO, FLSA, DOL, OFCCP, DCAA) and associated regulations and guidelines.
- Understanding of various types of incentives and benefits programs.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of compensation data and compliance with regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Capability to work independently and collaborate with team members, colleagues, and internal or external stakeholders to deliver results.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and modeling, and PowerPoint for presentations.
