Position Summary
Analyzes, research, and designs components or a system of components to develop or improve existing products while reducing cost, enhancing performance, or facilitating manufacturing operations. Designs products or systems of diverse/difficult scope and complexity for assigned programs using a variety of engineering principles from mechanical, electrical, packaging, or other engineering disciplines.
Essential Functions:
- Designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates products.
- Performs development and/or test work which requires a comprehensive knowledge of product line and design.
- Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical specifications, analyzes technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product specification.
- Analyzes, develops and recommends design approaches required to meet production requirements for new or improved products.
- May review and approve drawings and specifications prepared by technical support personnel: and may assign work and direct the activities of engineering support staff as required.
- Manages a variety of risk and time varying projects
- Provides sustaining engineering support for one or more products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2-5 years of applicable experience
- PC literate (MS Office, and Solid Model CAD experience required)- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively through others and be a participative team player
- Pneumatic design experience a plus-
- DFM experience a plus
