Role OverviewAs a Propulsion Engineer, you will develop work scopes for customer engines, disposition engine hardware, and serve as a subject matter expert on jet propulsion for the CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, and PP20 engine programs. This role is critical to ensuring safe, high-quality, and cost-efficient engines for our customers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in the Strother Field manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop incoming engine work scopes that meet customer needs while adhering to contract requirements.
- Collaborate with quality and design engineers to ensure new processes achieve established metrics.
- Provide technical responses and recommendations to customers and internal business units.
- Support production schedules and quality initiatives within budget boundaries.
- Investigate hardware issues and work closely with design engineering to resolve them.
- Promote and build positive working relationships with all members of the site.
- Apply structured methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and five-why to identify and resolve issues.
The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a collaborative and analytical problem-solver with strong technical expertise in jet engine workscoping. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and are committed to delivering high-quality results that drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or institution (strongly preferred).
- Experience in workscoping jet engines.
- Proficiency in computer skills and MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications- Six Sigma or equivalent quality training.
- Strong influencing and organizational skills.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and provide efficient solutions using structured methodologies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with operators, peers, and management.
- Leadership ability: collaborative, decisive, and a strong communicator.
- Experience working in a matrix organization.
Additional Information- Scheduled weekly hours: 40 hours.
- Work shift: 1st Shift (United States of America).
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings.
- Physical requirements may include the ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying environmental conditions.
