Job Summary:

The Regional Head of Procurement will be responsible for managing the Cluster’s supply of products and services. The Head of Procurement has the task to lead all procurement related activities and implement the procurement strategy and policy in line with the requirements of the company.

As our Regional Head of Procurement, you will be reporting directly to the CFO of Continental Europe & Middle East and functionally to the Global Head of Procurement. You will work closely with business stakeholders to build consensus and alignment for change & procurement projects, advise and most importantly implement with functional or regional leadership teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead all strategic procurement activities in regional area of responsibility for the applicable spend categories and ensure operational procurement transformation projects are implemented in an efficient manner.
  • Accountable to manage Regional procurement savings plan during the annual budgeting process, in close collaboration with finance, operations and Group Procurement.
  • Responsible for the purchasing implementation of applicable spend categories, processes and tools in own area of responsibility, i.e. P2P.
  • Responsible for achieving of the agreed regional targets for P&L Savings, Cost Avoidance and Payment Terms.
  • Support and lead the country procurement teams within your region and ensure that procurement processes are adhered to, and their targets are met.
  • Manages costs based on budget, drive project execution decision based on but not limited to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Life-Cycle Cost evaluation, value creation.
  • Plan and execute sourcing strategies for spend categories managed locally and regionally, develop and run supplier consolidation projects.
  • Accountable within the M&A process for post-merger integration measures, supplier onboarding and integration, capitalise on supplier consolidation opportunities.
  • Responsible for the establishment and management of effective relationships with regional suppliers, support supply chain sustainability projects (SRM).
  • Close collaboration with Sales, Business Development and Finance regarding upcoming needs (forecasts, capex replacements).
  • Responsible for observing spanet trends (innovation, overall state of supplier spanet and vendors).
  • Effectively build and manage relationships with suppliers, using Total Cost of Ownership approach.
  • Set rules of engagement with divisions/country organizations (incl. subsequent control of compliance) with respect to scope of managed categories.
  • Ensure that global processes are effectively adopted and implemented within the region.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering, Business, Economics, Procurement, Supply Chain or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience within procurement, supply chain, operations, logistics and transformation offices or consulting background.
  • You have excellent negotiating skills and understanding of contractual key terms.
  • A proven track record in delivering cost savings and driving transformational projects.
  • Strong project management experience and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage category processes and cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse key stakeholders in multiple global locations and at various levels.
  • Down-to-earth and positive work attitude, hands-on mentality, team worker.
  • Excellent social & communication skills – able to clearly articulate position in a complex international organization.
  • English skills at business level (written and spoken) is a must, any additional language is an advantage.
