CNC Setter Programmer
Job Description:

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating spanets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

The purpose of this role is CNC programming using a variety of CAD packages to create CNC programs to support production over a number manufacturing departments. Support production through the NPI process ensuring a robust repeatable manufacturing process is achieved, on time to the customers standards and cost expectations. Support continues improvements activities at a shop floor level and at a pre-production product design level. Support production activities on the shop floor when needed while ensuring a good standard of 5S+1 is maintained in all working areas, and health and safety standards are being adhered to at all times.

Key Responsibilities will include:
•tWorking within a small team of offline programmers creating CNC programs to support production.
•tUsing solid models to create CNC programs using a number of CAD packages.
•tWorking with the design and engineering teams to ensure design data is fit for production.
•tReport any issues or constraints to Lead CNC programmer.
•tSupport the programming team through cross-functional training where needed.
•tBe able to work with a wider range of support functions both internal and external including manufacturing engineers, design engineers, CNC setters and production operators.
•tPromote and participate in improvement activities as and when required to do so.
•tCreate right first time CNC programs from model data using CAD Cam software packages to support production.
•tCreate setter documents using Microsoft excel and word to aid the setting and operating of production machinery.
•tRaise tooling and material requirements with manufacturing engineering to support production.
•tMaintain and update program libraries and records in line with company standards.
•tDesign JFTs, jigs and fixtures to aid manufacturing.
•tSupport manufacturing and design engineers through product design reviews.
•tSupport production with machining method issues and geometry queries.
•tSupport the programming team through cross-functional training in line with departments training matrix requirements.
•tSupport production where needed through the setting and operating of production machinery in line with business needs.
•tSupport the business in other areas outside of your day-to-day actives in line with business requirements.
•tImplement and maintain a safe environment for employees and immediately raise Health & Safety concerns to management in compliance with the Company Health & Safety procedure
Job Requirements:

Candidate skills:
Minimum NVQ Level 2+3 Mechanical Engineering
Minimum B-Tec National Diploma Mechanical Engineering
Basic Knowledge of CATIA V4 / V5
Time Served / Experience in Using CAD Cam Software Packages:
