Summary
Responsible for all maintenance operations of a 100+ aircraft flight training organization with bases of operation throughout Florida and Georgia. Provides regulatory oversight with federal, state and local authorities for the organization’s fleet maintenance under its FAA Part 145 Repair Station and over its technician training programs, including an FAA Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School. This position provides strategic leadership to local maintenance management staff and guides the implementation of industry best practices.
Essential Functions
FAA Part 145 Maintenance Operations Oversight
- Manage the maintenance program for safety and high utilization
- Set operating parameters for implementation by local management
- Maintain a general knowledge of all work being performed across hangar and field operations for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
- Long-range planning of maintenance and shop needs, including overhaul and major component replacement, to support the company’s growth plan
- Ensure processes are in place for all maintenance work to be compliant with adequately revised repair station manuals, FARs, other authoritative guidance, and company policies
- Responsible for the overall airworthiness of company aircraft and compliance within the repair station operating manual
FAA Part 147 A&P Technician Training School Oversight
- Ensure compliant training standards and curriculums and meet FAA pass rate standards
- Set operating parameters for implementation by local management Long-range planning of school needs to maintain full enrollment and a strong competitive standing
- Responsible satellite growth plans; if any
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain ongoing contact and compliance communications with FAA personnel and other regulatory authorities
- Ensure that maintenance records are properly maintained and easily retrievable
Personnel Leadership & Department Coordination
- Provide leadership to direct reports consisting of local Maintenance management
- Serve as a mentor to personnel with a focus on bench strength and succession planning
- Coordinate with other departments such as flight operations, accounting, and administration for the successful execution of strategic plans
Budgeting & Administrative Management
- Responsible for Maintenance Department budgeting and financial performance

Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position manages a team of Director & Manager level personnel in place at each location.

Pay
Annual salary of $155k
Travel
This position is expected to be present from time to time at 7 facilities across Florida and Georgia as needed to fulfill the job responsibilities. With local management in place, this position can be based remotely, ideally in Central Florida, with travel reimbursed by the company.
