Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance Technician (LAX)
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: LAX Maintenance Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Shift: Full Time
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
The Technician reports to the Lead of the crew to which the Technician is assigned.
BASIC FUNCTION
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft, powerplants, components, and structure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. During station coverage conduct pre and post walk-around inspections (tire, brakes, general condition). Maintain contact with Maintenance Control regarding the aircraft’s condition.
2. Read and interpret all maintenance instructions, such as AMMs, SRMs, WDMs, IPCs, EAs, routine task cards, etc., as applicable.
3. Troubleshoot and repair discrepancies as necessary, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with approved maintenance data.
4. Ensure that all work is performed and documented in accordance with Kalitta Air and FAA requirements.
5. Ensure that any discrepancies identified during the performance of a maintenance task are documented.
6. Follow all Kalitta Air and FAA policies and procedures.
7. Follow all Kalitta Air safety rules and procedures. Ensure that any identified safety related deficiencies are brought to the Company’s attention.
8. Adhere to Sterile Cockpit Procedures as defined in Section 3.1.69.
9. Keep a neat and clean work area at all times.
10. Any other duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Also required is an A&P license and previous 747 experience is desirable. Tools required as well
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal direction assigned to staff.

• Work in all weather conditions
