Autonomous Production Unit Leader (APUL)

Job Description:

The Autonomous Production Unit Leader (APUL) manages their team with the aim of meeting objectives for safety, quality, and delivery, in line with customer requirements. Help improve performance with your expanded scope of responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•tFollow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) rules. Lead the team to make best practices habits & improve when possible.
•tControl inventory levels through rigorous adherence to cycle counting frequency and procedures.
•tSupport and show responsibility for Hoshin Kanri pillars deployment, development and follow-up of KPIs, updating performance boards/monitors daily.
•tSolve problems with root cause analytical tools, such as Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC).
•tLead a high level APUL meeting for QRQC on a daily basis, keeping with the methodology and agenda set by corporate/training.
•tDrive quality into all operations and all processes by leading the team to follow established quality procedures, routines, practices and the Quality Manual.
•tLead continuous Lean improvement initiatives. Follow layout change procedures, understand process maps, value streams and practice learnings from White Belt training.
•tCoordinate production team members to complete daily workload, engineering requests, AOGs, expedites, etc, working with quality and engineering departments as required.
•tResponsible for communication of performance and QRQC boards to execute level management.
•tMonitor production planning and execute plans with input on day-to-day scheduling.
•tPerform all work distribution and assignment activities, including releasing Manufacturing Orders (MOs), posting MOs, etc.
•tTrain back up personnel to perform tasks as needed.
•tProperly administer personnel/people resources: start/stop times, shift coverage, discipline, scanning into and out of MOs.
•tComplete all transactions in M3 properly and in a timely manner.
•tFollow production plans and control methods to ensure on-time delivery and MOs.
•tInterface successfully with customers and government regulatory officials.
•tEnsure compliance to Tool Control and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) procedures.
•tPerform employee performance appraisals per established schedules.
•tAdheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture,
•tRegular, predictable attendance is required;
•tOther duties may be assigned.
