• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience
• Five (5) years of experience in airline operations with expert knowledge of aviation safety, flight, inflight, dispatch and/or maintenance operations
• Knowledge of all areas of airline maintenance, flight operations, dispatch, cabin operations, ground operations and commercial aviation regulations desired
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to learn and understand new software in detail
• Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
• Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 5 and Safety Management System (SMS) principles and applications
• Working knowledge of regulations and standards governing commercial aviation (International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), FAA, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA)) and those governing aviation safety, security, environmental, and employee health and safety
• Experience and/or training in human factors, safety investigations, and/or root cause analysis
• Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
• Must pass pre-employment drug test
• Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
• Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• Graduate degree or five (5) years of industry experience in aviation, aviation safety, investigations, human factors, or related field
• Experience in Aviation operations (FAA Certificated Pilot, Airframe & Powerplant (A&P), Dispatcher, Inflight crewmember, or work experience in an equivalent operational military, 14 CFR §121 Carrier or Aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) role).
• Formal safety management training, accident investigation training or prior experience working within a 14 CFR Part 121, accident investigation, ASAP, human factors or voluntary reporting program
• Knowledge of aviation reporting systems, safety principles, and just culture
• Ability to conduct or support data and/or statistical analyses to provide meaningful and actionable insight that improve JetBlue’s safety performance
• Strong team building interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
• Airbus 320 (A320), Airbus 220 (A220) and/or Embraer 190 (E190) systems and general flight operations knowledge or experience

• Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
• Able to maintain a professional appearance
• When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
