Production Manager

The Production Manager role is to direct and supervise the manufacturing operations in one or more major departments of the division within established operational instructions, procedures and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•tPlan, direct, and supervise all operations performed in the manufacturing departments assigned to the position in a manner that will ensure optimum results and supports the continuous flow of work between departments as well as the warehouse.
•tEnsure adherence to production schedules (time & quantities) as established by Manufacturing Controls.
•tResponsible for the quantity and quality of work assigned to the position.
•tEstablish and maintain well organized and efficient processes, operations, and workflow to ensure the best utilization of labor and/or machine time.
•tAdminister policies and procedures in a fair, consistent, and non–discriminatory manner.
•tPropose changes in operating instructions or general policies to immediate supervisor as required.
•tPrepare established and/or creates special reports as needed for management showing accomplishments and other pertinent or requested information.
•tCreate or revise department instructions and procedures as needed.
•tMake certain through proper selection, training, development and placement of department personnel, that all positions are filled by individuals qualified to meet the requirements of their respective assignments.
•tPromote cooperation and teamwork throughout the organization and motivates employees to work to the best of their abilities.
•tDirect the maintenance of machinery and equipment used in department operations.
•tResponsible for implementing personnel procedures.
•tAdheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture,
•tRegular, predictable attendance is required;
•tOther duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
•tDirectly supervises Autonomous Production Unit Leaders (APUL) and indirectly supervises all other employees under the supervision of the APULs.

Physical Demands
•tThis position sits and performs computer work for extended periods of time.
•tBoth standing and walking are required.
•tAbility to talk and hear.

Work Environment
•tThe work environment is an office setting with moderate noise levels.
•tWork sometimes involves working near moving or mechanical equipment.
•tThe employee is regularly exposed to fumes and airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
•tSome travel may be required.

Job Requirements:

•\tMust be proficient in the use of the MRP modules in M3 or be able to demonstrate your knowledge of how MRP systems work.
•\tMust be an initiative taker.
•\tAbility to work in a cross-functional team environment.
•\tAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
•\tAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.
•\tAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
•\tAbility to type.
•\tAbility to work with specific computer software.
•\tFamiliarity with industry terminology.
