ABOUT THE HQ DIVISION

To navigate the challenging skies, Hydro-Québec currently has a fleet of 4 aircraft - two Dash 8 Q400s and two Dash 8-300s, which will be replaced by a fleet of ATR72-600s in 2026 - that ensure the smooth movement of employees to key sites in the Saguenay, Abitibi, North Shore and James Bay regions. ROLE OVERVIEW

As Foreman of Aircraft Maintenance at Hydro-Québec, you’ll lead a skilled crew ensuring our fleet stays safe, efficient, and mission-ready. You’ll coordinate daily operations, guide technicians, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise will drive performance, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the hangar. This is a hands-on leadership role where precision meets purpose.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Organize and supervise maintenance work within the assigned crew.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are completed in alignment with the maintenance program and operational schedule, as directed by maintenance management.
  • Direct and oversee maintenance crews to optimize performance and ensure compliance with MPM quality standards.
  • Assist and instruct technicians in their duties and work procedures.
  • Supervise the cleaning, upkeep, and care of aircraft, hangars, shops, and equipment.
  • Promote collaboration with management, inspection department, dispatch, and flight crews.
  • Submit requisitions for required components, hardware, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper use, return, and storage of tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Closely supervise high-safety-impact tasks such as major component changes, engine inspections, control rigging, and engine run-ups.
  • Verify completion and certification of all applicable maintenance functions.
  • Continuously monitor maintenance procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor crew performance and ensure personnel remain current with standards, procedures, and equipment.
  • Stay up to date with Hydro-Québec’s MPM, MCM, and other relevant publications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Management.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Valid Transport Canada AME M license with at least 6 years of hands-on experience relevant to Hydro-Québec operations.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience on the ATR aircraft.
  • Successfully complete training and eligibility exams for Hydro-Quebec AMO certification (aircraft certification authority).
  • Excellent knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.
  • The ideal candidate will excel in both team settings and independent tasks, showcasing strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC), including an airside driver’s license (D) and a radio license.
  • Bring your own essential tools related to your work tasks.
  • Must hold and keep up to date all necessary authorizations and documents to legally work in Canada.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and teams.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Night shift (4:30pm – 3:00am) - Schedule type 3-2-2

  • Compensation and benefits are determined according to corporate policy.
