Are you a proactive and dedicated Environment, Health and Safety Specialist looking to make a significant impact? We&39;re searching for a talented individual to join our Occupational Hygiene team at Filton.
This isn&39;t just a compliance role; it&39;s an opportunity to be a key player in protecting our workforce. You will be the go-to expert for chemical risk assessments, proactively identifying and evaluating workplace health hazards through inspections and sampling. You&39;ll analyse data against UK regulations, design effective control measures, and develop crucial training programs.
Working across our UK sites and representing the country on a transnational level, you will be instrumental in preventing work-related ill health.
 

How you will contribute to the team: 

• As the new Environment, Health and Safety Specialist, you&39;ll be a vital contributor to our Occupational Hygiene team by:

• Taking ownership of chemical safety: You&39;ll manage the full lifecycle of chemical risk, from assessing and approving new materials to clear hazard communication for our Filton and Broughton sites.

• Being our proactive Occupational Hygiene expert: You&39;ll identify, monitor, and evaluate potential health hazards, using your expertise to develop effective solutions like engineering controls and PPE.

• Ensuring we stay compliant: You&39;ll be  a key point of contact for UK health and safety legislation, ensuring our practices meet or exceed standards set by the HSE 

About you:

A BOHS qualification (or be actively working towards it), or an equivalent qualification in chemical risk assessment.
Proven experience in conducting workplace risk assessments, particularly for chemical exposure, and implementing monitoring strategies within a UK context.
Proficiency with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and software, coupled with excellent data analysis skills to interpret results against UK exposure limits.
A strong background in developing and implementing effective exposure control measures, including engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE.
