Position: Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Location: Bournemouth Airport Working Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours per week Gama Aviation are pleased to invite Engineering Apprentices to apply for our 2025 Stores Apprenticeship Programme. This is a 14 month apprenticeship working towards a Level 2 qualification as a Supply Chain Warehouse Operative.Reporting to the Stores Manager, you will be developed in aviation warehousing skills and protocols including Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) awareness. The use of Information Technology (IT) & MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to process aviation inventory throughout their respective product life cycle. The awareness of product storage, constraints and segregation. The accurate process for identification, receipt (Goods In) and handling through to loading, dispatch (Goods Out) and the packing of returned goods. In addition, you will continue to expand the expertise and capability to include stock husbandry, rotation, and housekeeping whilst developing their problem-solving skills, peer to peer communication and handover awareness as well as learning environmental factors that affect the day-to-day preparation, storage, part processing and indirect workloads within aviation. Responsibilities:- Goods in processing.
- Completion of stock receipts and goods in processing
- Ensuring parts are received in the correct condition and regulatory paperwork requirements are met.
- Ensure correct storage and distribution of all of components, parts, materials.
- Stock control.
- The completion of general warehouse administration.
- The monitoring shelf-life items, stock and tyre rotation.
- The control of COSHH iaw with HSE regulations.
- Picking and Packing.
- The physical selection of parts to meet the needs of the engineering workforce.
- The recording of all part transactions using the companies MRP system
- Maintaining an auditable processes.
- The delivery of parts as and when required and as directed by the Supply Chain and Engineering.
- General Warehouse Tasks.
- Operating of Forklifts as required (if required / capable)
- Ensuring the Warehouse is kept clean, tidy
- Aiding other Supply Chain functions where workloads dictate.
- Dispatch.
- The shipment of parts and paperwork to vendors and customers
- The recording of all dispatches to their retrospective locations
- Checks and Stock Counting.
- Conduct Daily, Weekly and Monthly checks as requested / required.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required: - You will be required to conduct yourself in professional manner, open to learning whilst responding to the needs of the Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) while developing the soft skills to become an effective Stores Assistant, Supervisor or Manager in time.
- GCSE (or equivalent) grade 4 or above in Maths, English
